Fixed overhead production volume variance
is the difference between the standard fixed overhead costs (for actual output) and the estimated amount of fixed overhead costs allocated to products. Fixed overhead production volume variance is the difference between the actual and estimated volumes of production calculated at a standard fixed overhead application rate.
