Warranty obligations.
Kelly Company trades in cars. On May 12, a car was sold and a warranty was provided to the customer. The warranty obligation amounted to $500. In the same accounting period the customer returned to Kelly Company with a claim because the car needed a gear box repair. Kelly decided to settle the claim and fixed the problem. The repair cost $200.
