Point-of-sale (POS)
is the point for revenue recognition, with some exceptions. Some specialized industries outside manufacturing and merchandising entities might not recognize revenue at the point of sale. Examples might include installment contracts, production under construction contracts, and production of agricultural products or precious metals.
